             Youth Programs

The AVA has two special programs for youth. Click on the links below to find information about each program. The Youth Programs Brochure is available free from the AVA office. Clubs may order as many as they wish to have available at walks. 

• Master Program
  Teams of youth and adults participate together in 12 sanctioned AVA events during a twelve month period to earn Master Program awards. Any "team" of at least one youth, capable of participating under their own power, and an adult, may participate. Ideal for families and youth groups.

  

• Walk-Together Program
  Youth Program "Walk-Togethers": Local AVA clubs will work with youth groups, (such as the councils of the Girl Scouts of the USA and Boy Scouts of America,)  to put on "Walk-Togethers." The youth group declares one of the club's events as its official "Walk-Together" and the members, family, and leaders all participate together in the official activity. Many groups participate for a unique award. To find out about having a "Walk-Together" for your group, contact the AVA's National Youth Coordinator at avayouth@ava.org
