Description:
|
Mon-Sat 9-6; Sun 9-5. Closed major holidays. This walk is through Gasworks Park, into and through Fremont ("the center of the universe") with its world famous sculptures of the Troll (beneath the Aurora Bridge), Waiting for the Interurban, and Vladimir Lenin (?). Walk on both sides of the Lake Washington Ship Canal, returning along the Burke Gilman Trail. 6 and 13 K routes head via Fremont to and along the south side of the Canal; the 13 K option continues all the way to the Hiram Chittenden Locks, fish ladder, and historic Ballard before linking up with the last leg of the 10 K route.

Start Point / Driving Directions:

1900 N Northlake Way. From I-5 north or southbound, take exit 169/NE 45th Street. Turn west onto NE 45th to Meridian Avenue North. Turn left onto Meridian and proceed downhill. Fisheries Supply faces N 34th Street at the SW corner of Meridian and 34th. Turn onto 34th for the best on-street parking. Do not park in the store lot. Bus from downtown (3d Avenue N'bound): Metro #26.
