Description: Mon-Fri, 6am-10pm; Sat, 8-5; Sun 1-5. During the months of July, Aug. & Sept., please call to verify Sunday hours. Closed all holidays. Tour Operators please make arrangements with the POC. Walk 1 - This trail features the Lincoln Highway in Gettysburg and areas of the the battlefield on July 1, 1863 when the Union First Corps under John Reynolds/Abner Doubleday fought Confederates from A.P. Hill's corps. The 10K trail also goes around Gettysburg College and parts of town where the Union 11th Corps was being pursued by Jubal Early's Division. ***** The trail passes a monument to the 26th Pennsylvania Emergency Militia who skirmished with Confederates on June 26, 1863, on their way to York. ***** The 10K trail passes Kirchoff Field, the baseball field for Gettysburg College. The trail is mostly on paved park roads and city sidewalks.

Start Point / Driving Directions: 909 Fairfield Rd, Gettysburg, PA 17325 (717)334-9171. From the square in Gettysburg go south on Baltimore St. (Bus. 15 S., PA 116 W.) 1 block to Middle St. Turn right on Middle St. (PA 116 W.) and go 7/10 mile, passing traffic signals at Washington St., Franklin St,, West St., and Confederate Ave./Seminary Ridge. The YWCA driveway is 1/10 mile past Confederate Ave. on the right.

Comments: New Trail for 2013. ***** This event qualifies for the KSVA Lincoln Highway Program. ***** The National Park Service has scheduled activities commemorating the 150th Anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg for July 1-3, 2013. The battle reenactment is scheduled for July 4-7. Lodging in Gettysburg will be very expensive and scarce during these dates.
