October - April hours 10AM - 5PM on Fri, Sat, and Sun only. May & Sept hours 10AM - 5PM on Tues - Sun (closed Mon). June - Aug hours 10AM - 5PM Sun-Thurs and 10AM - 7PM Fri and Sat. Walkers may walk the Albert Loop for 5km credit, or walk the full route for 10km credit. Walk is rated 3, a moderate trail with some climbing. It is not suitable for strollers or wheelcharis.

32750 Eagle River Road. Tel. 907-694-2108. Take Glenn Hwy north out of Anchorage to Hiland Dr/Eagle River Loop exit at milepost 11.6. Follow Eagle River Loop east to Eagle River Rd and turn right past Walmart. Follow Eagle River Rd 10 miles to its terminus at the Eagle River Nature Center. $5.00 per car parking fee at the Nature Center Parking Lot. There is no public transportation.

Bring your own snack and water. Indoor restroom and water available at nature center only. Route is a double loop that includes several well-maintained trails within Chugach State Park. Trails have wooden posts with mounted "you are here" maps at every intersection. Remote sections of trail are marked with metal trail markers. Expect snow October through March but trails are usually packed down so snowshoes are seldom needed. Moose and brown bear frequent this area.
