Description: 10 km: Altitude is 6,502 to 7,150 feet; 5 km addition: altitude is 7,122 to 7,813 feet. The trail follows established one- and two-track trails through forests and meadows, and crosses a suspension bridge over the Popo Agie River. The vista is of magnificent granite cliffs and forests. At the 10km turn-around point, the 5 km addition's trail continues on to Popo Agie Falls and returns via the same trail. The park's centerpiece is where the river disappears in a cavern (the "Sinks") to emerge 1/2 mile away (the "Rise"). Watch for moose, bighorn sheep, and black bears. Carry water and use sunscreen. Restrooms are in the park campgrounds and start point. Dogs must be leashed. Visitor's Center is open daily 9-6.

Start Point / Driving Directions: 3079 Sinks Canyon Rd. Park Phone numbers are 307-332-3077, 307-332-6333. From Lander, head south on SR 131 for six miles. The Park Visitor's Center is on your left, and is open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
