Description:

Walk box is in the fee booth, first building on the boardwalk. Open daily 9-5. Altitude 7,746 to 8,113 feet. The trail meanders through the restored mining town of South Pass City, along Willow Creek, up a long hill, and around a plateau to a deserted covered gold mine. The trail continues through Aspen Grove Trail and returns to town. Keep an eye out for mule deer, moose and domestic cattle. Carry water and use sunscreen. Restrooms available in town. Start Point / Driving Directions:

South Pass City is 35 miles south of Lander. From Lander, head south on Hwy 287, then west on Hwy 28. At mile Marker 39, turn left. South Pass City is two miles down this dirt road, and the Visitors Center is on the right. From Rock Springs, head north on Hwy 191 to Farson, then east on Hwy 28. At mile marker 39, turn right. South Pass City is two miles down this dirt road: the Visitors Center is on the right.
