Description:
|
Visitor Center is open daily, 9 am-5 pm Monday-Saturday, and 11am-5pm Sunday. Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years day. Some off-pavement areas of this walk may be difficult for wheelchairs and/or strollers. Walk through Historic Fredericksburg including the battlefield, along the Rappahannock River, and through the University of Mary Washington campus (10k only). The 5k walk includes the Marye's Heights Trail. Both 2010 trails have been changed somewhat from the 2009 trails for variety.

706 Caroline Street. Phone: 540-373-1776. From I-95 in either direction, take Exit 130A East. Follow signs for Historic Downtown Fredericksburg along Route 3 (locally named William Street) to Princess Anne Street. Turn right onto Princess Anne Street and follow it to Charlotte Street. Turn left onto Charlotte Street and follow it one block to the Fredericksburg Visitor Center (on your left). Free parking is available in two lots on Sophia St. which is one block from Caroline St. toward the River. Or park in the parking garage on Wolfe St. between Caroline and Sophia Streets (first 2 hrs are free, then $1.00/hr.)
