On this walk, you will walk through Arizona State University (where Teddy Roosevelt spoke and Bush debated Kerry), along historic downtown Tempe's Mill Avenue (featuring a variety of shops and restaurants), past the restored Southern Pacific RR station, and end up enjoying a walk along Tempe Town Lake and the Salt River, with views of the mountains surrounding Phoenix, the Valley of the Sun. This walk is rated 1, and is nearly flat, an easy stroll.
