Description: An AVA walk will be held in partnership with the World Heritage Festival. Tour de las Misiones will include a 5k and 10k walk beginning and ending at Mission Park Pavilion. As much as possible, walkers will start in mass under a banner, just after 8:00am. You can preregister on line at or download and print a registration form to mail in. The walk is $15.00. Registration will also be open the day of the event, but you need to come early. All walkers will receive a T-Shirt, goody bag, walking BIB and a commemorative medal (guaranteed to the first 500 registered participants) upon completion. Packet pre-walk pick-up is September 6 and 7 at Alamo Beer Company, 202 Lamar, SA, Tx from 4-7pm; or at the morning of the event. There will be free food and beverages at the finish line. After the walk, the Mission Pachanga starting at 10am to 6pm completes the day with an evening of live music, food, sales booths and celebration at Mission Park Pavilion.

Start Point / Driving Directions: 6030 Padre Dr., San Antonio, Tx. From IH 35, head East on IH E. 10 to Probandt exit. Turn right on Probandt to Flores St. Turn left to E. Southcross Blvd. Turn left to Roosevelt Ave. Turn right to Padre Dr. Turn left, and after VFW Blvd., turn left into Missions Park Pavilion parking lots. From East San Antonio, head West on IH 90 to Probandt exit. Turn Left on Probandt and follow same directions above to Mission Park Pavilion parking lot.

Comments: The World Heritage Festival September 5th through 9th, 2018 is an annual collaborative event to celebrate and promote our San Antonio Missions, an UNESCO World Heritage Site, and raise funds to preserve, maintain, promote and connect. The AVA walk on September 8th will be held in conjunction with a bike tour (7, 14 and 22 miles) and run. Walkers are encouraged to start at around 8:15am and finish by 12:30pm, in order not to miss out on some of the festivals feature. The run will not be held on the same route as the walkers.
