Description: The Caves II Volksmarch is a nature walk which will pass by up to 32 small caves/sinkholes in 10 Cave Preserves in Cedar Park Tx. The trail passes trees and vegetation typical of Central Texas and small cave entrances that provide water drainage to underground waterways that eventually discharge into Lake Travis. These legally protected Cave Preserves are surrounded by residential housing areas. The caves had metal grates placed over the entrances by the city to provide protection from falling into them and to protect a number of endangered small animal/insect species. We will not go into the caves, but will view them close-up as we walk. There are only a few places in Texas where we can see such caves, so come out and enjoy.
