Description: Elwha River, Dam to Delta, Port Angeles Combined 10k, 5k, 1B Walk at 2 different locations, Glines Canyon 2B, Elwha Delta 1B Dam, Glines Canyon Overlook, 5k: This walk starts 10 miles East of Port Angeles, also in the Olympic National Park. One of the Elwha Dams was removed at this Overlookthe tallest dam to ever have been removed in the United States. Once reviewing the info boards and fantastic views well explore what once was Lake Mills prior to the dam removal 6 years ago. Note the vegetation taking back the lake bed. Delta, Elwha Delta at Strait of Juan de Fuca, 5k: This walk is 12 miles from Glines Canyon Overlook. The sediment that was carried down the Elwha River created some 50 acres of land when the dam was removed. Well walk on this newly created beach that is primarily a wildlife refuge. This is one of the few areas thats open to the public.
