Start Point / Driving Directions: 100 Ladybird Lane, Johnson City, TX 78636. From Austin, take Highway 290 westbound. At the signal light in Johnson City, turn left (still on 290), towards Fredericksburg. Go three blocks and turn left on Avenue F. Go two blocks and turn right onto Ladybird Lane. The parking lot and visitor center are on the left.
From Fredericksburg, take Highway 290 eastbound to Johnson City. After passing the traffic light at Nugent Street in Johnson City, go two blocks and turn right onto Avenue F. Go two blocks and turn right onto Ladybird Lane. The parking lot and visitor center are on the right.
From north or south, take 281 to the intersection with 290 and follow the directions from Austin.

Comments: The entire Courthouse is draped in lights. Surrounding trees are lit with complementary red lights. Even the inside of the Courthouse is decorated. Holiday music plays in the Courthouse yard area and is the central station for carriage rides. The local Pedernales Electric Co-Op headquarters strings a block of magnificent old oak trees with 1+ million white lights, along with the stately two-story PEC HQ building, are simply brilliant. Nearby trees are in other complementary colors. The Johnson City Memorial Park is stuffed with lighted trees, figures, and presentations. The Methodist Church produces their highly acclaimed Blanco County Living Nativity Christmas pageant every half hour beginning at 6:30 pm. The LBJ National Historical Park will be conducting special events at the LBJ Boyhood Home. Leashed pets are allowed on the route, but not in any buildings.
