Description: The walks starts at the area's Chamber of Commerce Building and proceeds through the historic city. You will see unique Alsatian architecture and shops filled with antiques and collectibles. There are many marked historic homes along the route. The town cemetery and the shady Medina River in the Castroville Regional Park are on the 10K route.

Location: Castroville Area Chamber of Commerce Building
Start Point / Driving Directions: 1115 Angelo St. From San Antonio, head West on HWY 90 to Castroville. After entering Castroville city limits, stay on HWY 90 past HWY 471 intersection and go over Medina River Bridge. Castroville Chamber of Commerce Building is on the right past Lafayette St. From West of Castroville, enter city on HWY 90 heading East. Careful - 40mph down that hill. Stay on HWY 90 through town. After seeing Dziuk's Meat Market on right, turn left on Angelo St. for the Chamber of Commerce building. For extra parking, head one block down Angelo St. to Houston Square in front of the historic St. Louis Catholic Church.

Comments: Castroville was founded in 1844 by Henri Castro, who brought European families from Alsace and Baden to help settle the new republic. It is known as "The Little Alsace of Texas".
