Description: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm. Sat 9am-5pm. Sun 11am-5pm. Closed Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day. Walk daylight hours only. The Gibbons Creek Wildlife Art Trail features scenic viewpoints of three small lakes, the Columbia River, and Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. Enjoy an easy, genuine nature hike, with many bird varieties and other wildlife, natural habitat, and unique art signs. Options of 10/11/12/13/14km can be done directly from Pendleton. The Gibbons Creek and Columbia River Dike trails combine for several distance options. A 5k and 10/11/12/13/14km route options start directly from the Pendleton Outlet Store start point, through a pedestrian plaza and tunnel under SR-14; all others are remote starts, 2.5 miles driving. Due to a seasonal trail closure, wintertime distances are out-and-back. No water on trails; carry water with you. A 5km route directly from Pendleton includes a loop through downtown and the Columbia River Dike Trail with a loop in the middle at Cottonwood Beach and Captain William Clark Park. Leashed pets permitted and restrooms available at the halfway point. Restrooms and water at registration; restrooms only at trailhead. Suitable for strollers but difficult for wheelchairs. NO PETS are allowed on the Gibbons Creek Wildlife Art Trail, but are OK on the other dike trail options.

Start Point / Driving Directions: 2 Pendleton Way. From Vancouver, Interstate 5 (Exit #1A) or Interstate 205 (Exit #27), take State Highway 14 East to Washougal. Just past Mile Post 16, turn left at traffic light onto Washougal River Road. Right on "A" Street. Right on Pendleton Way. Plenty of parking, but please use outlying spaces. Ask for start box at retail counter.
