Description: On May 3, 1901, a fire that began in a factory became an uncontrollable blaze that spread quickly eastward across Downtown. Jacksonville was helped by many across the nation with relief funding and rebuilding by some of the countrys most distinguished architects, including H. J. Klutho. Many of these beautiful structures built after the fire remain in downtown Jacksonville. The directions include notes on historic structures for those interested.
