Description: Hours: M-F 6am-8pm; Sat & Sun 7am-8pm. WALK DURING DAYLIGHT HOURS ONLY. The 5 km trail, rated 1A, requires driving 3.2 miles to a different start point; driving directions are on the walk instructions. The 5 km trail is on the streets through the Kenwood neighborhood with beautiful cherry blossoms/spring flowers. The 10 km trail, rated 2A is on the Capital Crescent Trail and streets through the Kenwood neighborhood. This trail has some hills. Restrooms are available in the shopping center and along the 10 km trail; restrooms available only in the shopping center for the 5 km trail.

Start Point / Driving Directions: 4611-E Sangamore Rd, The Shops at Sumner Place, 20816; 301-320-9845. DIRECTIONS: Washington Beltway (495), exit 39, River (MD 190) to Washington. RIGHT on Goldsboro (MD 614). LEFT on Massachusetts (MD 396). RIGHT on Sangamore at firehouse. Continue past The Shops at Sumner Place (4701 Sangamore) to STOP sign in front of Defense Intelligence Agency. LEFT 1 block, then turn LEFT again to The Shops at Sumner Place. RIGHT at 1st intersection. Starbucks in middle of strip of stores.

Comments: After the cherry blossoms are gone, azaleas and other spring flowers will be in bloom. Pets are allowed but must be leashed at all times; you must clean up after them. Pets are not allowed in Sumner Place stores, but can be leashed outside. Kenwood's cherry blossoms may be a day or two later than the blossoms at the tidal basin in DC.
