Description: Trail is on city streets through historic section of Ft Bliss--one of the largest military bases in the US. There is an amazing museum right across from Start Point. It covers history of Ft Bliss and 1st Armored Cavalry. Please take time to visit it.

Start Times: Dawn to 2 hours before Dusk.

Start Point / Driving Directions: 1744 Victory Ave, El Paso, TX 79906. From I-10, take Exit 25 (Airway). From east, turn right. From west, turn left. Go 1.8 miles on Airway to Buffalo Soldier Gate into Ft Bliss. If you do not have military ID, stop at pass office. Go 1 mile and turn right onto Jeb Stuart. Go 1 mile to third light at Cassidy and turn left. At second light, turn right on Marshall. Pass through two lights continuing to Victory Ave. Turn right to Start Point. Registration box is at front desk. Please express your appreciation.

Comments: All adults must have picture ID. Vehicle insurance also required. On Marshall Road near start point is Freedom Crossing Shopping Center. All stores and resturants are open to the general public. Some of them are found nowhere else in El Paso. Only exception is main PX which is open to all but only military ID holders may purchase anything. In lobby entrance to PX is a really nice food court with a variety of fast foods. The 10 KM walk goes by the Fort Bliss Replica Museum which is exact copy of the original Ft Bliss including being built with adobe bricks. Both trails (5 km with 1 KM option) go by the Japanese Friendship Garden.
