Description: Daily, daylight hours.The walk route follows the Lewis & Clark Corps of Discovery journey along the beach to a bronze tree sculpture placed to commemorate the most northerly point reached on the Pacific coast. The trail is on asphalt pavement & elevated boardwalks with great views of the beach & sand dunes. Other sites along the way point out observations made in their journals. The return route goes thru the town of Long Beach passing a museum, sculptures, memorials & many shops & restaurants.

Start Point / Driving Directions: REGISTRATION: Please use the online start box provided by the California Volkssport Association website ( Follow the left side link, 'Online Start Box', and the instructions provided to sign a waiver and register for this event. Payments for event credit and directions use Paypal. The directions and insert cards are PDFs that you can download and print as needed. the POC does not provide event directions or accept alternative payment methods. The entire online process should take less than 10 minutes for a first time user.
DRIVE TO START: Long Beach Peninsula Visitor Center, 3914 Pacific Way, Seaview, WA. From I-5 northbound, take Exit 39 at Kelso, turn left & follow signs to WA State Route (SR) 4. Follow SR 4 west to its intersection with US 101 west of Naselle & continue straight to follow US 101 south to Pacific Way in Seaview. Turn right on Pacific for a short block to the Visitor Center on the right.
From I-5 southbound, take Exit 104 south of Olympia to US 101. Follow SR 8 & then US 12 to the intersection with US 101 at Aberdeen. Follow US 101 south to Seaview & the Visitor Center as described above.

Comments: Long Beach claims to have the world's longest beach at 27 miles. Many interesting events are held here during the spring, summer & fall including a week long kite festival, sand castle festival, cranberry festival, & a large vintage car drive in festival.
