CLUB: Volkssport Club of West Point
TRAIL HIGHLIGHTS: Hyde Park walk is 13 KM and rated 3. It is not suitable for wheelchairs due to hills. The trail goes past the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Home and Library, and past the Vanderbilt Mansion, as well as through the village of Hyde Park. There are wonderful views of the Hudson River. You may choose, depending on the weather conditions, and your personal preferences, to walk on a trail through the woods between the FDR and Vanderbilt sites, or on paved roads in the village. The trail will have you return by a different route through the village. If you plan to go through the woods, you may want to use hiking boots and a walking stick, especially if the weather is bad. Be sure to stay on the trail.
