TRAIL HIGHLIGHTS: The 10 km (6.2 mi.) trail is rated 2+. The trail goes by many 19th century historic buildings, antique shops, and boutiques with spectacular views of the Hudson River.

TRAIL RATING: 2+.

START POINT LOCATION & HOURS: The Cold Spring Depot Restaurant, 1 Depot Square, Cold Spring, NY 10516, Ph: 845-265-5000. 11:00 AM - 10:00 PM (Please only walk during daylight hours.) 10 day forcast for Cold Spring, NY and vicinity.

WATER & RESTROOMS: are available at the Start/Finish.

DIRECTIONS:

• FROM NEW YORK STATE THRUWAY from the North: Thruway Exit 17 (Newburgh) to I-84 East, cross Newburgh-Beacon Bridge; and continue to I-84 Exit 13, turn right from exit ramp onto Route 9 South, then continue 6.5 miles to light at Route 301, turn right. Continue 2.4 miles to traffic light at Route 9D, and downhill, straight thru light. At the bottom of the hill (at railroad tracks) turn right onto Depot Square.
• FROM NEW YORK STATE THRUWAY from the South: Take exit 13N for the Palisades Pkwy, then follow directions from the Palisades Parkway given below.
• FROM THE PALISADES PARKWAY: Take the Palisades Parkway north to Bear Mountain exit (right), and continue to the Bear Mountain traffic circle at Route 9W, exiting traffic circle to Bear Mountain Bridge .. left turn after crossing bridge, continue on Route 9D north for 8.3 miles to village of Cold Spring, turn left at the village traffic light, onto Main Street. Go to the bottom of Main Street (at the railroad tracks) turn right on Depot Square.
• FROM THE TACONIC PARKWAY: Taconic State Parkway in Putnam County to the Route 301 exit (signs at this exit are also marked for: Cold Spring & Carmel). If travelling south on the Taconic, turn right from the exit ramp; and if travelling north on the Taconic, turn left from the exit ramp; continue west on Route 301 for 8 miles to traffic light at Route 301 and Route 9. Continue straight through light for 2.4 miles, to next traffic light (Rte.9D), go straight on Main Street to the bottom of the hill (at the railroad tracks) turn right on Depot Square.
