TRAIL DESCRIPTION: The historic Battle Road Trail preserves sites where Colonial militiamen and British soldiers clashed on April 19, 1775 to commence the War for Independence; and includes battle sites, agricultural fields, forests, fragile wetlands, historic landmarks, colonial homes and tavern. View the exhibits and film at the Visitor Center to learn more about the events leading to the Revolutionary War. With a stone dust surface, this walk is rated 1.5, suitable for strollers, but not wheelchairs.
