AVA Convention in Cherry Hill

Lois Head wrote a graduation song especially for the occasion, and we all sang along. Barbara Piffat provided piano accompaniment. The "valedictorian" completed the program 4 times. The day before the ceremony he did a walk on the Delaware University campus and bought a "head mask" of the college's mascot—the mascot of the U of Del are the Mightly Hens—and presented this to Chris because he is the "mother hen" of the college program. The three children from one family who finished the program helped present the diplomas to the individual recipients. Many people wore graduation caps—some authentic ones and others that were home-made (see photo of Ruth Cade and Charlotte Phillips— Ruth made those caps). One person even wore an authentic college gown!
