Trails

Each day features a different walk available only on that day. All trails are primarily on sidewalks with occasional natural surfaces and may be difficult for strollers and wheelchairs due to local differences in accessibility. Alternate routes are available on some trails. Trails are mostly flat (rate 1 to 2+ on a 5 point scale).
Friday
5 / 10 km walk Experience Arlington, Virginia hospitality with a Welcome Walk west of the Potomac River. Trail will take you onto Roosevelt Island, to Iwo Jima Memorial, The Netherlands Carillon, and past Arlington National Cemetery.
  All must finish by 6:00 p.m.
   

 
Saturday
Trails take you to embassies, the National Mall, and all three branches of the US Federal Government.
 
44 km Walkers Trails take you to embassies, the National Mall, and all three branches of the US Federal Government and around some of the best trails in Arlington after visiting the memorials.
21 km Walkers
6/12 km Walkers
All must finish by 5:00 p.m.
   

 
Sunday
Trails take you to the C & O Canal, the Tidal Basin and Potomac Park.

6/12 km Walkers
All must finish by 4:00 p.m.
   

   
  • Everyone is welcome!
  • Water/Candy available at start and at control points, but you may want to carry additional water
  • Food available at family prices at establishments along the routes.
  • Restrooms at start and at or near control points
  • For safety on this walk carry only unit flags or flags of your country, state, or city. Please no political signs or banners at this sporting event.
  • Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult
  • Trails are not appropriate for pets due to building and local restrictions
  • Some trails wheelchair and stroller accessible
  • Event will be held regardless of most conditions unless safety is threatened by dangerous weather or a national emergency
  • Everyone must sign an athletic waiver
  • No littering — ever
