Remembering . . . May they rest in peace. We know the trails in heaven are spectacular and, being all knowing, they won't need walk instructions to enjoy the trails. . . and it won't rain on them!

Carl Baranski — May 30, 2007; Cumberland Valley Leadfoot Club and Lebanon Baloney Stompers. He and Lew Ernst walked the 50 states before year rounds were created.

Douglas "Dougie" Eby, Jr., June 2005; Susquehanna Rovers. 1984 – 2005. In his 14 years of involvement in volksmarching, he participated with his grandmother in 182 events in 13 states and volunteered at a lot of the Susquehanna Rovers events. His first event was in Harrisburg when he was 7. He was instrumental in laying out, marking and tearing down a trail in Camp Hill at the age of 15. He was also successful in getting many of his friends to try volksmarching. He was quite proud of himself for finishing the marathon at the Freedom Fest in Washington DC. At his last event, the Hershey Walkfest in 2004, he worked most of the day at the checkpoint at the firehouse by himself. He would help anywhere that he was needed except to wear the Rover costume; he had done that once and once was enough.

Lew Ernst— July 11, 2000; Baloney Stompers. He had logged 35,000 km, walked in all 50 states and practically every country in Europe.

Carl Frock III — Piedmont Pacers

Bruce Garner— August 17, 2006. . . from the Penn Dutch Pacers newsletter: We were saddened to note the unexpected passing of Bruce Garner on Thursday, August 17th. Bruce along with his wife Joan faithfully manned our sales table for many years before stepping down at the end of 2004. Editor's Note: Many of us remember Bruce as any easy going, easy to talk fellow that enjoyed life and that put his all into everything that he did. We'll miss your Bruce.
