VOLKSSPORTING BACKGROUND:
I began volkssporting in July 1986. I have logged over 1,000
events and 11,000 kilometers, walked in 47 of the 50 states,
and in 22 countries. I am an AVA LIFE Member and have attended
many international volkssporting events including the IVV
Olympiad and national conventions of both the US and Canada.
I have represented AVA at the international level as a
delegate to the Congress of Delegates for two years.
VOCATION:
I am a retired federal manager (Department of Housing and
Urban Development) with service in Washington, D.C. and
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. My final assignment was as Director
of Housing for the State of Oklahoma, where I supervised
a staff of 60 that monitored single-family homes, apartment
complexes, and retirement and nursing homes insured by
the Federal Government. I designed and delivered nationwide
training each year, personally leading several thousand
hours of training. I served as a Government Contract Officer
with supervision over multi-million dollar contracts.
PERSONAL:
I am retired and in good health. My wife, Martha, and I live
on Whidbey Island and enjoy designing trails, organizing
events and motivating club members to support volkssporting.
We enjoy travel and combine volkswalks with every vacation.
I am a member of the NW Tulip Trekkers Volkssport Club,
the Bavarian Volkssport Association, a founding member
of the Sound Stepper Volkssport Clubs, all in Washington
State and the West Texas Trail Walkers. |
