LOCATION: This is a walk through the Boro of Chambersburg, a community in South Central Pennsylvania.

TRAIL: The trail is basically on sidewalks, with significant obstacles. It is suitable for wheelchairs and strollers, but there are uncut curbs. The trail rating is l+.

START/FINISH: Olympia Ice Cream Parlor, 43 South Main Street, Chambersburg, PA 17201(717)263-8597.

Dates: January 2nd through December 30th 1998 except Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Hours: Monday - Saturday, 11:00 A.M. until 2 hours before dusk. Sunday, 12 noon until 2 hours before dusk.

PROCEDURES: Complete a start card and registration log. Your start card must be validated at both checkpoints and turned in at the finish You will be given a map with written directions describing the trail. WALK DURING DAYLIGHT HOURS ONLY. Finish the walk by dusk. If you wish to start the walk before Olympic Ice Cream Parlor opens, please register and pick up your start card before 9:30 P.M. the day before you wish to walk.

FEES: IVV credit is $2.00. The trail may be completed twice on the same day at no additional fee. A new start card must be obtained for each day. No refunds. NO PREREGISTRATION. Prior awards are available as "B" awards for $3.00 including IVV credit.

GENERAL INFORMATION: Water and restroorns are available at the Start/Finish and at both the checkpoints. Both the Olympia Ice Cream Parlor and Hardee's restaurant have agreed to participate in this year-round event as a public service. Please be patient and allow them to take care of their regular customers first.

DIRECTIONS: From 1-81: Take exit 6 (US 30 W, Lincoln Way). US 30 W into downtown Chambersburg. After the intersection at Third Street, get in left lane. Go around/through the Square in the left lane (fountain is in the middle). 1/2 block beyond square turn left (just before the yellow RR crossing sign and the Salvation Army Thrift Shop sign.) The Ice Cream Parlor is on the left about a block from US 30. There is a municipal parking lot across from the entrance to the parlor. From the west: Take US 30 East. Go past the first traffic light, cross over the bridge and the railroad tracks. Take the first left after the tracks. You will be in the municipal parking lot next to the Olympia Ice Cream Parlor.

The Ice Cream Parlor is the one story building next to the Valley Bank and Trust Company
