Welcome To the Saratoga Battlefield - There is a park entrance fee or you can use your Golden Age Passport

Course Description: The route is rated 2 and is all on paved roads and a service gravel road. (American Side). The Battle of Saratoga was the turning Point of the Revolutionary War. This route goes by the car tour interpretive stops 1-5. We suggest that you complete this road tour by car.
*NOTE* There is an alternate trail, rated 2+ (the Wilkinson Trail) which may be muddy and slippery in wet weather.  It is the  same sanction number (Only one event credit may be earned doing either trail) which goes past stops 6-10 on the car tour .  (British Side).

Starting Point: Saratoga Battlefield Visitor Center - Take time to look at the exhibits and definitely see the film!

Hours:       Daily: 9AM-5PM. The Battlefield Visitor Center in Stillwater is open daily from 9:00am to 5:00pm except for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day when the park is closed. The Tour Road is open usually from April 1 to mid-November depending upon weather conditions.

Award: The "A" award is a medium blue bar for the Saratoga Battlefield  to be attached to the Header (club emblem) which can be purchased separately.

Directions:   The SARATOGA NATIONAL HISTORIC PARK is approx. 30 miles north of Albany, New York, and  about 15 miles southeast of Saratoga Springs. 
From points North: 
Adirondack Northway (I-87) at Exit 14, follow signs for  RT 29 which takes you east to Schuylerville (location of the Philip Schuyler House & Saratoga Monument).  Eight miles south on Route 4 you will find the main entrance to the Battlefield.  The Visitors’ Center for the Saratoga Battlefield National Park is about 2 miles from the entrance on US Route 4. 
From points South: 
Adirondack Northway at Exit. 12, head east and follow the large brown and white signs which direct you to Saratoga National Historic Park.  The park entrance will be on the  right off of Rt. 32.

Refreshments & Restrooms: Water and restroom facilities are available at the START/FINISH. Walkers are encouraged to carry water during warm weather to prevent dehydration. There are restaurants in Schuylerville, Saratoga and in the area of EXIT 12 of the Northway(I-87).

Smoking is prohibited in public buildings by New York State law. Please observe this ruling.
