Course Description: The trail is rated 1+ and follows streets
and sidewalks of
the city of Historic Saratoga Springs, past Empire State College, past
the Race Track, Casino, Skidmore College and the main streets of the
city.- suitable for wheelchairs and baby strollers. Some assistance may
be required.
There is one 10 km (6.2 mi.) sanction for this event.
Besides the former D&H station on the route is the form site of
the
The McGregor Railway: The current home located at the corner of North
Broadway and the arterial (on the east side of North
Broadway)
was actually once the rail station that transported visitors
to
the Hotel Balmoral on top of Mt McGregor for weekend dancing &
activities.

Balmoral via the railway, that looked so dizzily unsafe, but was very
safe, to hear a
famous All Girl orchestra which played there in the brilliant season of

Please park in the Spring St Parking Lot. The free parking lot is
located between Henry St & Putnam St across from Congress Park.
* An Alternate Start Point is available:
If you would like to walk Saratoga YRE on Monday or after the Bread
Basket's business hours, a 2nd stamp is also located at the Hilton
Garden Inn (included in the Saratoga Spa State Park Seasonal walk box).
Please ask for the walk box which is held behind the registration desk.
Directions: FROM THE SOUTH: Adirondack Northway (I-87)
to Exit 13N
(Saratoga Springs). Go NORTH on Rt. 9 into Saratoga. Turn right onto
Spring Street (just after Congress Park on your right)Former Palmetto's
Market is located on the left. Parking Lot is located on Spring Street,
across from Congress Park.
FROM THE NORTH: Adirondack Northway (I-87) to Exit 14 (Saratoga
Springs) Then go West on Union Ave. past the Racing Museum to Congress
Park at Circular St. Turn right (north) on Circular for one block, then
turn left (west) onto Spring St. Go one block and the parking lot will
be on your right.

Award: The A Award is the red city bar for Saratoga to attach to the header (club emblem) which is to be purchased separately. Various "B" awards are also available.
Registration: Fees are $6.00 for "A" Award and IVV Credit;$5.00 for "B" award and IVV credit; $3.00 for IVV credit, and $2.00 for non-IVV credit walkers.
Refreshments & Restrooms:
Water and restroom facilities are available at the start/finish and
along the route. Refreshments may also
be purchased from local businesses along the route. Walkers are
encouraged to carry water during
warm weather.
Smoking is prohibited in public
buildings by New York State law.
