Welcome To Caroga Lake, New York This event is sanctioned by the American Volkssport Association (AVA) a member of the International Federation of Popular Sports (IVV). Participants are eligible for credit toward IVV Achievement Awards.
Course Description:
The
11 km (6.8) trail is rated 1+.
The
trail follows along the shoulder of Rte
10 and
Starting Point:Caroga Lake Town Offices, 1840 State hwy. #10, Caroga, Lake, NY. There is an alternate start point for when the Town Offices are closed. (See below)
Alternate Start Point: Canada Lake Store (To be used only when Town Offices are closed) during July & Aug. Hours are: M-F 8AM-9PM;Sat. & Sun. 9Am-9PM. Sept. hours are M-F 8AM-7PM; Sat. & Sun. 9AM-7PM. To get to the Canada Lake Store Follow Directions to Caroga Lake, then continue North on Rt. 10 past the Town Offices for approx. 3 miles. The store will be on your left just after passing Green Lake. *NOTE: Sign in at the store but please PARK and begin the walk at the Town Offices. Restrooms are available at Town Offices when open or at the Nick Stoner Golf Course or food establishments in town.
Hours: Daylight hours. The starting point is only open limited hours. The Caroga Lake Town Offices are open Mon. 9AM-2PM, Tues.-Fri. 9AM-4PM and Sat. 9AM-12Noon. Closed on Sundays.
A AWARD & FEES: "A" Award is the green bar for Caroga Lake, to be attached to the Header (club emblem) which can be purchased separately for $4.00. "A" Award is $6.00 for award and IVV Credit;"B" Award and IVV credit is $5.00; IVV credit only - $3.00 and $2.00 for non-IVV credit walkers.The Caroga Historical Museum - London Bridge Road (518) 835-4400. Outdoor museum complex is Open Jul-Aug, W-Su 1-5PM. Handicap accessible. Free admission.

Directions:
From Albany and South:Proceed West on I-90 (NYThruway) to Exit 28 (Fonda/Fultonville). From Exit (it is approx. 20 miles to Caroga Lake) turn Left (Riverside Dr.), then Right onto Rt. 30 and cross the Mohawk River. Left on Main (30A) then a Right onto Broadway (30A). Follow 30A for approx. 8 miles. Turn left onto Rt. 29A and follow this for 12 miles to Caroga Lake. Continue straight onto RT 10 past former amusement park on left for another 1.1 miles and the town offices will be on your left (across from the golf course, former school).
From
the West:
Go East on I-90 (NYThruway) to Exit 29 (Canajoharie). Turn Right (Main
St.) Turn Right (Church St-RT10). Follow Route 10 North for approx. 20
miles to Caroga Lake, past former amusement park for another 1.1 miles
and the town offices will be on your left (across from the golf course,
former school).
From
the North:
Take Exit 15 I-87 (Adirondack Northway),
Saratoga Springs, proceed west (Rt 50) into downtown Saratoga. Turn
Right onto Rt. 29 (Washington St.) and travel West for approx. 30
miles. Turn Right onto Rt. 29A (White Holland House Restaurant on
corner). Continue on 29A to Caroga Lake (approx. 17 miles). Continue
straight onto Rt. 10 past former amusement park for another 1.1 miles
and the town offices will be on your left (across from the golf course,
former school).
