TRAIL HIGHLIGHTS: Wethersfield includes 116 homes built before 1840, with a few dating back to the 17th century, plus a lovely cove off the Connecticut River, where a warehouse from the 1600s still stands. A cemetery with Native American mounds and graves is lin thecenter of town and the trail passes by an old railroad station, now housing the Narcissus Chocolate Café. Historical museums are located at the Webb-Deane-Stevens homes (where George Washington and Rochambeau planned the final days of the Revolutionary War at Yorktown, VA) and at Keeney Memorial Cultural Center.

START POINT LOCATION & HOURS: The Corner Store, 500 Silas Deane Hwy. (Rt. 99) (corner of Rt. 99 and Church St.). Tel.: 860-563-6779. Hours: Daily, 7 am to 8 (M-F), 7 am to 7 pm Sat., 7 am to 5 pm Sun. Water and snacks are available.
DIRECTIONS: FROM THE NORTH: Take I-91S to Exit 27 (Rt. 15). Take Exit 85 (Rt. 99S/Wethersfield/Rocky Hill). At end of exit, turn right onto Rt. 99 and go south 1 mile to Corner Store on left. FROM THE SOUTH: Take I-91N to Exit 24 (Rt. 99/Rocky Hill). Turn right at end of exit and go north on Rt. 99 approx. 2.2 mi. to Corner Store on right. FROM EAST: Take I-84W to Exit 57 (left exit - Rt. 15S/Charter Oak Bridge). From Rt. 15S, take Exit 85 (Rt. 99S/Wethersfield/Rocky Hill). At end of exit, turn right onto Rt. 99 and go south 1 mile to Corner Store on left. FROM WEST: Take I-84E to Exit 52 (I-91S). Take Exit 27 (Rt. 15). Take Exit 85 (Rt. 99/S/Wethersfield/Rocky Hill). At end of exit turn right onto Rt. 99 and go south 1 mile to Corner Store on left.
PARKING: To avoid taking up the few space available in front of store, please park in parking lot behind the Wethersfield Library (which is in the large white town building across the street).
PETS: Must be leashed!
