Next Meeting is : Wednesday August 13, 2003 in the Wister Morris Conference Room in the Good Samaritan Hospital.  This is a SPECIAL meeting to plan all the events for next year.  Pizza will be served and the meeting start time is 7:00pm.  We want and need your input so please try to attend.

Note from the President:  I want to thank all the club members who helped at the walks, did ads and brochures, prewalked routes, anything and everything, etc.  Everyone did a great job and made the summer walks again a great success.  CRVC has a great reputation for putting on good, quality walks and walkers really enjoy our walks and what we do.  A lot of that comes from the hard work and cheery disposition of our club members.  Without you, it wouldn't get done!!!  John

WALK REPORTS:

We started the summer on June 8 with our annual Post Rose Parade Walk with 420 walkers.  At the last minute we found out that the float viewing area was going to be moved from the Rose Garden area to the parking area by the Lloyd Center so we had to scramble to revise part of the walk route.  But none-the-less, everything worked out and most walkers enjoyed the new route.

Our next walk the 10 K as part of the Trifecta Walk with the Roamers and the Cedars Milers, saw 179 walk the new Johnson Creek Pathway to Oaks Park and back.

Then came the Hot July Wednesday Night Pub Walks and they were hot, hot and hotter!!
-176 walked the Cornelius Pass Roadhouse walk - Shawna Langley of Aloha won the New Balance shoes.
-192 walkers joined with us, at the Lucky Lab on
Hawthorne.  Unscheduled entertainment included , a bazillion dogs and their owners.  There was a special attraction later on as two jugglers did a little practice session on the patio.  CRVC tries to do things different!!!  Catherine Otto from Portland won the shoes.
-151 walked the area around
Multnomah Village, again on a very warm evening.  Marna Tisdale of Portland was the shoe winner.
-91 walkers joined us on the hottest night as we walked from the Fulton Pub.  Becky Forsythe of Battle Ground won the shoes.
