Members Present: Jean Abel, Michele Druschel, Lisa Foster-Moore, Eric Glosenger, Joe Kelly, Karen Kelly, Kimmy Simon

 

Minutes - approval:  The minutes from the August meeting were approved as written.

 

Treasurers Report:  Reminder 3rd quarter reports are due the end of this month.

 

Old Business:

  • Christmas Boat Walk location.  We have found a great new location for our Christmas Boat Walk.  It will be held at Madison’s Bar & Grill on SE Madison and 11th St. in Portland.  They have a separate room available for us with restrooms nearby.  They have great food in the restaurant.  There is plenty of parking on the street and we will be able to use a part of their parking lot.
  • Eric suggested we use REI for our Post Rose Parade Walk.  This will be considered.

 

Upcoming Walks:

  • October 2, The Dalles Historic Days Walk, Chair, Joe & Karen Kelly.  There will be a Historic Days brochure handed out with the walk instructions.
  • October 30, The Monster Mash, Halloween Walk, Need new Chair.  Joe & Karen Kelly will chair the walk.

 

New Business:

  • YREs Sanctioned for 2005.  All our YREs have been approved for the new year.
  • New 2005 Brochure of YREs is being updated and has been printed.
  • Need someone to take over walk box at Albertson’s in Lake Oswego. Kimmy Simon volunteered to take care of the two walks there.
  • Need someone to take over walk box at Columbia Sportswear in Sellwood.  Eric Glosenger volunteered to take care of the three walks there.
  • We are filling out an application to Kinko’s for a credit card for discounts in printing that any of our members could use.
  • OTSVA and many members of several clubs volunteered to promote walking to the participants of the Race for the Cure Health Fair.

 

Other Business:

·        New Editor for the NW Walking Magazine, Kathi Garrison kathi@garrison-grafixx.com

All notifications for the NW Walking Magazine should be sent to Kathi by the 5th of each month and also to Bob Forsythe at bobf@sales.oregonian.com.  Eric Glosenger volunteered to send articles to the NW Walking Magazine from our club.

·        Providence and Adventist Hospital Health Fairs. OTSVA may be involved in more health fairs.

·        We received a very nice note from some walkers.
