Treasurers Report:  Mike gave the treasurers report and final Profit & Loss report for the Gorge events.

Old Business:

  • The City of Cascade Locks was pleased with the way things were handled during our events there.  We would like to see the Saturday night dinner at a different location.  We need to have enough room for all the guests to be together.  We need volunteers for a Gorge Committee to begin planning for 2006 events.
  • Christmas Boat Walk location.  We need to just go out and drive around to come up with a location.  We don’t have much time.

Upcoming Walks:

  • October 2, The Dalles Historic Days Walk, Chair, Joe & Karen Kelly. We have the written walk instructions and map.  Joe and Karen will go and walk it to be sure everything is in order. We need volunteers to help with the walk.
  • October 30, The Monster Mash, Halloween Walk, Chair, Frankie Schuster & Dan Cramer.  This walk will be at the Foot Traffic on 43rd.  We have the map and walk instructions.  We will have a “best costume”, the winner will get the free pair of New Balance Shoes.  Both walks have been sanctioned.

  • McDonald’s Bike – Becky Forsythe’s club will take over the bike for 2005.
  • Columbia Classic Moonlight Walk – The club decided not to get involved with the Moonlight Walk.
  • OTSVA Promotion – The Publicity Committee has contacted Providence Hospital about getting involved with their Health Fairs.  They will get back with us the beginning of the year to discuss the schedule of their Health Fairs.  We need to promote walks by leaving off the word “VOLKS”.  People that don’t know about volkssporting are less likely to get involved just because they don’t understand the way is it worded.  If we use “WALKING”, we will get more attention and the true volkswalkers will understand what it’s all about.
  • OTSVA will host the Conference in 2006 in Seaside.
  • Certificates Received by our Club – At the NW Regional Conference in Leavenworth, our club received the AVA NW Regional Director Award for “Best of the NW Friendliest Club” Award along with Dick Koonce as the “Friendliest Volkswalker” Award.  Joe Kelly received the “Spark Plug” Award for enthusiasm. Congratulations to the club, Dick and Joe.

Other Business:  There was no other business.
