All 2009 Year Around Events have been renewed for 2010. The two southside Birmingham walks will be offered as one walk, although both trails will continue to be available.
Unlike regular Volksmarch events which have preset start and finish times, and are usually conducted on weekends, a Year-Round Event (YRE) or Seasonal Event may be walked any day the start point is open.
REGISTRATION: There is no pre-registration for Year-Round or Seasonal Events. Registration takes place at the event Start Point. There is a "Volksmarch Box" or "Walk Box" which contains instructions for registering. There is a $3 registration fee for IVV Credit. Those not seeking IVV Credit may walk for free. Every participant must register. No refunds are given because of bad weather. For YREs, only one IVV Credit may be entered in an Event record book each six months (Jan-Jun or Jul-Dec). For Seasonal Events, only one credit may be entered in an Event record book during a season. Participation for Distance Credit is without limit for both Year_Round and Seasonal Events.
CONDITIONS: Everyone is welcome to participate. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Pets must be on a leash at all times. Litter should be discarded in proper receptacles. No alcoholic beverages are allowed along the course.
