In 2006, the Georgia Walkers and the Capital City Wanderers had seven walks, 4 swims and 3 bikes in Orange Beach, AL, while the Pensacola Volksmarch Club had 6 walks and a swim in nearby Perdido Key, FL, after a year's hiatus while the area recovered from hurricane Ivan.
Trails were through new and old neighborhoods, through rebuilding commercial areas and on the beach. The weekend was mostly gray, but except for a very cold, but mostly light rain Saturday, temperatures were moderate (upper 50s and 60s).
