Awards: All walks are CREDIT only, which is $3.00, and free skiers are welcome. Hat pins are available. All skiing will be done during daylight hours. There will be water and restrooms at start/finish. Carry your water for trail.

Rating: 2.

Ski along the Icicle River, through woods, across meadows, and over bridges. Trail is essentially level. Adults must buy a daily ski pass $10.00 or a 2 day pass for $16.00 which is good on all Leavenworth ski trails that day. Seniors over 69 and children under 12 ski free.

Town Walk

Rating: 2+

Route takes you through the Bavarian town of Leavenworth, parks and some residential areas.  Scenic views of mountains and its surroundings.  It is suitable for wheelchairs and strollers.

 

Icicle Gorge Walk

Rating:  2

A dirt trail loop along the Icicle River and along the Icicle Gorge area.  Trail has beautiful forest and mountain scenery.

Directions: From East (Wenatchee or I-97 on)

Hwy 2, proceed  to the west end of Leavenworth to

the Best Western for registration and driving directions to the walk start.  If you are coming from the west side, you may register in Skykomish.   From the west (Seattle, Hwy 2) proceed to Sky Deli (across from Chevron) in Skykomish, for registration and driving

directions to the walk start.  Sky Deli is open 8:00AM-6:00PM Tues.-Thurs. and 8:00 AM                                                                                -

8:00 PM Fri – Mon. 

Best Western – dawn to dusk.

 

YOU MUST DRIVE TO THE WELLINGTON CREEK TRAILHEAD TO BEGIN THE WALK.

The Iron Goat Trail follows the original route of the railroad.  You will see tunnels, snow sheds, many train artifacts and many view points of the mountains.  The trail is very well maintained, and has many interpretive signs about the building of the tracks.

 

Rating:  3.  Not suitable for wheelchairs or strollers. A $5.00 parking permit is required.

Start Point: Lake Chelan Hospital, 503 E. Highland Ave. Chelan, WA. Registration cabinet is in corner of waiting room to left as you enter.

Directions: From Wenatchee take Hwy 97A north to Chelan. Cross the bridge turn right on Woodin. Turn left on Navarre (just past elementary school.) Go four blocks to Eli St., Turn right and go one block to LCC Hospital.  (Follow the Hospital Signs)


Awards: All walks are CREDIT only, which is $3.00, and free walkers are welcome. Hat pins are available. All walks will be done during daylight hours. 7 a.m.-8 p.m. There will be water and restrooms at start/finish or on route.

Walk Rating: 1+

A walk along sidewalks and roads through rolling hills, past lakes and orchards adjacent to Lake Chelan.
Suitable for wheelchairs and strollers.

 

Bike Rating: 1+

Enjoy scenic biking through town of Chelan and on wide shoulder along Lake Chelan on mostly level road to state park.

Start Point:  Safeway, 501 N. Miller, Wenatchee, WA.

 

Directions:  From Spokane: I-90 Exit #149.  Right on SR-281 to Quincy.  Left on SR-28 to East Wenatchee.   Left Across Seller Bridge.  Right on Mission St. and then left on Fifth St. to SAFEWAY at Fifth and Miller Sts.

 

From Seattle:  I-90 eastbound.  Take US-97 to US-2 and turn Right on US-2. Cross Wenatchee River to Wenatchee Ave.  At the fifth stoplight, free right turn onto Miller St. to SAFEWAY at Miller and Fifth Sts.

 

Town Walk

Rating: 1   

It will be in the area of the college.  It is not suitable for strollers and/or wheelchairs.  Pets are permitted but owners are responsible for leash and clean-up laws.  Also you will walk through part of Riverfront Park and the bridge over the RR tracks and through downtown.

 

City/Cemetery Walk

Rating:  1+

This walk is through the city, paved roads and sidewalks, two short up hills to the cemetery and pass a city park, college, new residential areas and retirement homes.  Suitable for wheelchairs.

 

Saddle Walk (see below)

Paved walk/bikeway along Columbia River and through Riverfront park with views of the valley and mountains.

Wenatchee-Saddle Rock- 10K Walk

Start Point: Wenatchee Racket and Athletic Club

Directions: From Seattle: I-90 to US97 to US2.  Cross Wenatchee River to Wenatchee Ave.  At 2nd stop light, right on Maiden Lane - Left on Western Ave. to end, right on #2 Canyon Rd., left on Skyline Drive one block WRAC.

From:  Spokane:  I-90 Exit #149.  Right on SR 281 to Quincy - Left on SR28 to E. Wenatchee - Left across the Sellar Bridge - Left at light on Mission St. - Right at Crawford which becomes S. Hill Dr. - Turn Left on Skyline Drive to WRAC.

Rating:  3+ - 4

This trail is well maintained, the first 2 kilometers are steep with switchbacks, then a gradual rise to the top.  The road down is steep with switchbacks and some loose gravel, then pavement back to start.  No strollers or wheelchairs. 

The view from the top is breath taking.  You see up and down the Columbia River, the town of Wenatchee.  Don’t forget your camera.

OMAK 10K WALK

Start Point:  Mid Valley Hospital, Omak WA                                   

Directions:  From East Wenatchee, North on Hwy 97 to Pateros.  Continue North on 97 to Omak.

 Exit into Omak on Omak Ave.  Cross Bridge to Main St.  Left on Main to 4th Ave.

 Right on 4th Ave to Okoma Dr.   Angle left on Okoma to Hospital.

 

Rating:  1. Not suitable for strollers or wheelchairs.  Walk is on city streets and sidewalks past park

and college over river and into Stampede and Rodeo area.  Pets are permitted but owners are responsible

for leash and clean-up laws. 

 

Awards:

This walk is for CREDIT only ($3.00) or 'B' award. This is an Okanogan County walk and has Okanogan patches available for $5.50, which includes credit.

REPUBLIC 10K WALK

Start Point:
Prospector Inn, 979 S. Clark Ave., Republic, WA 509-844-6480 Daylight hours
Directions: From West: I-9:  I-90 Eastbound: Exit #84 to US 97 to Tonasket. Right on SR20 to Republic.  Right on S. Clark Ave. Prospector Inn 4 blocks on right.  From Spokane: US395 north to Colville.  Left on SR20 to Republic.  SR 20 becomes S. Clark Ave.

Rating: 3

 

The route takes you through some historical parts of town, residential area, along county road to the Golden Tiger Trail.  This is a paved trail on an old railroad bed, with great views of the mountains.  There is a hill when you return to start point.  Pets allowed and follow leash laws.  Not good for wheelchairs but strollers maybe.  Water and restrooms at the start and finish.

MAZAMA 10K WALK    (WINTHROP AREA)

Start Point:  Mazama Ranch House, HCR 74 Box A-6, Mazama, WA 98833
Directions:  From west I-5 to Hwy #20 over N. Cascade Hwy, turn left at sign at Mazama.  To first intersection and go into ski parking lot.  Then walk up road to Ranch House Inn.  Box is on the outside wall in front by the office.  Please park in parking lot by road not in Ranch House parking lot  OR take US2 TO E. Wenatchee, north on 97 to Pateros, left onto Hwy 20 to Mazama.                                                                                                                          
From East:  Take Hwy #97 north to Pateros, turn left onto Hwy #20.  Go through Winthrop to Mazama and turn right.  Once in Mazama, proceed as above.
WALK:
Rated:  2+
The walk is on a ski/bike/walking trail, some gravel, some dirt.  You will be walking through open fields, forests and by some recreational homes.  Great views of Mtns., forest floor, maybe flowers.  Bring camera.
