TRAIL DESCRIPTION

Walk on Mickelson Trail through Hill City past 1880 Train to Newton Lake or Rafter J Bar.

EVENT INFORMATION

Held in conjunction with the Heart of the Hills celebration.
Ride the 1880 Train, visit numerous art galleries along the main street.  Elevation at start point is 5012' and rises from there.

DIRECTIONS

Hill City is located on Hwy 385/16. Take Mt. Rushmore Road from Rapid City. From Hot Springs and Custer take 385 north. Follow signs to Mickelson Trailhead.

Event and distance books will be available for purchase for $5.00 each at the Start/Finish.  This event counts towards the acquisition of IVV achievement awards.  New walker program packets will also be available for $5.00 each.

Water will be available at the Start/Finish and check points.  Carrying water is highly recommended.
