TRAIL DESCRIPTION |
Trail is used for cross country skiing during the winter and is a peaceful walk at over 6000' |

EVENT INFORMATION |
Deerfield Dam was built in 1942 - 1946 by conscientious objectors to World War II. About 500 men, mostly Mennonites, were assigned to the project by the draft boards because of their religious beliefs prohibited them from bearing arms. |

DIRECTIONS |
How to get to Custer Trail TH, Campground on North Shore of Deerfield Lake. Take W. Deerfield Rd (CR 308) from Hill City, stay on Deerfield Rd as it turns into FH 17. Turn onto S. Rochford heading northerly, then turn right onto CR 417 to Custer Trail C.G. Watch for signs. |
