TRAIL DESCRIPTION

Walk will be on Mickelson Trail with a long uphill walk to Mt. Moriah Cemetery.  After passing the Courthouse walkers will go through the Deadwood gaming area.  The return trip will be on the Whitewood Creek Trail.

EVENT INFORMATION

This is a very historical walk with many places dating back to the days of gold fever and the wild west.  View burial sites of Wild Bill Hickock and Calamity Jane.

DIRECTIONS

If you are on I-90.take exit 17 to Deadwood. When you get to town stay on Highway 85 - go through 3 stop lights. At the fourth stop light, you will turn left. Go one block, turn right at the flashing stop light. You are now on Hwy 85 south. Go approximately 3/4 mile. Deadwood Gulch Resort will be on your right hand side. If you are on Hwy 385. Coming from Mt Rushmore area, follow 385 to Hwy 85. Turn right, Deadwood Gulch Resort will be on the left as you enter Deadwood - approximately 1/2 mile. If you are on Hwy 85 North. Turn right at the first stop light when you enter Lead and 85 North going toward Deadwood. Stay on this road through town. Go approximately 3 miles toward Deadwood. Deadwood Gulch Resort will be on your left.
