TRAIL HIGHLIGHTS:
Stroll across Walkway over the Hudson - the world's tallest and longest elevated pedestrian bridge standing 212 feet above the Hudson River, and 6,678 feet (1.28 miles) long. The walk will travel across the Walkway west to east to Poughkeepsie, then through Poughkeepsie city streets finally crossing the Mid-Hudson (FDR) bridge back to the starting point in Highland.

DIRECTIONS:

FROM US ROUTE 9: Cross the Hudson River in Poughkeepsie on US Route 44/NY State 55 West. Turn NORTH on Route 9W after the bridge, go straight at the first stop light (Haviland Road), then in less than 300 feet the Gateway Diner is on the LEFT.

FROM THE NY STATE THRUWAY I-87: Take Exit 18 for Route NY-299 towards New Paltz/Poughkeepsie. After the toll, Turn RIGHT onto NY-299. Follow NY-299 (~ 5 miles) to the T intersection with NY-9W. Turn RIGHT onto NY-9W South. Follow NY-9W South for about 2 miles, the Gateway Dinner is on the RIGHT.
PARKING: at the Gateway Diner.
PETS:Leashed pets are permitted, but not allowed in buildings. It is suggested that you bring water for your pets.
