Minutes of the 7 May 2006 Club Meeting

• President Joan Kimmel called the meeting to order on Sunday, 7 May 2006 at 9 AM at the Eveready Diner in Hyde Park. Treasurer Andrew Schmidt and two club members were in attendance.

• Joan announced that Chris Mellon is no longer the Regional Director of the North East AVA region. The functions of the Regional Director are being performed by AVA HQ for the time being.

• The second half of the year schedule was developed. The following group YREs are now scheduled.

• West Point - Sat, 8 July. 8:45 AM Registration, 9 AM summer time start.

• Highland Falls - October ?? ; Andrew wrote to club VP Farrell Patrick to coordinate a date that the fall festival of Highland Falls is on to dovetail our walk with the festival.

• Rhinebeck - Sat, 5 August. 8:45 AM Registration,, 9 AM summer time start.

• Cornwall on Hudson - Sun, 19 November

• Hyde Park - Sat, 9 December

• Details of the specific walks above will be published no later than the June electronic edition of the newsletter.

• Joan will sanction Nyack and the fall Round Pond event.

• Joan is going to check with one of our members to see if she is willing to develop a New Windsor event, probably on 12 November. Stay tuned for details.

• Joan discussed the 2007 AVA Convention walks. This is the biannual (once each two years) national AVA Convention. Dates are approximately 6/23-7/1/2007 to be held in and around the Sacramento, California area. See their website at: www.sacramentowalkingsticks.org/2007Convention/ConventionEvents.html .

• Club member Joan Vorbach was congratulated on having the Hyde Park YRE be her 100th Event which we all enjoyed (including three new club members) after the breakfast meeting.
