Minutes of the Volkssport Club of West Point

April 30, 2006

 Volkssport Club of West Point met on 30 April 2006 for a pre-walk breakfast meeting at Park Restaurant, Highland Falls.  Seven members were present. 

• Treasurer Andrew Schmidt stated that our present balance, as of 31 March, was $1881.98.  Our first quarter walk attendance at all walks totaled 94. This contrasted with totals of 122 in 2005 and 55 in 2004.  The lower number this year may be due to weather and a small turnout of Girl Scouts for the Goshen walk also due to weather.

The remainder of the meeting was a discussion of future walk dates. 

• Farrell and Nancy will do the pre-walk at Mills Norrie as they will be unable to attend the event walk on 21 May. 
• Our next monthly club walk will be on 7 May at Hyde Park. Pre-walk breakfast meeting will be at the Eveready Diner at 0900. 
• We will do the lower NYC walk on 11 June with the Princeton club. 
• The rescheduled monthly walk of Highland Falls will be on 25 June which will also be a Farmer's Market day on Main Street.
• Reminders were for our fall walks: 10 Sep/Nyack; 17 Sep/Cold Spring; 15 Oct/Round Pond; 12 Nov/New Paltz (tentative).

Nancy will get a price estimate for the framing and engraving of our club patch which will be presented to the Holiday Inn.

The meeting adjourned and 10 walkers proceeded to Cornwall for the monthly walk.
