CLUB: Volkssport Club of West Point

WELCOME: This event is a non-competitive walk sponsored by the Volkssport Club of West Point and the Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson, Inc. It is open to everyone and is free if you do not want IVV credit. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

AWARD: The A award is the Girl Scout/AVA "Walk-Together" patch for 2008/2009.

FEES:
For Girl Scouts:

• Fee for IVV credit and the A Award is $6. This also includes a certificate of participation and refreshments.
• For Girl Scouts who wish to participate without receiving IVV credit or the patch, the fee is $2. This includes a certificate of participation and refreshments.

For Non-Girl Scouts:

• A Award/w IVV Credit $4.00
• IVV credit $3.00
• Refreshments / Donation to the Girl Scounts $2.00

TRAIL HIGHLIGHTS: The trail is on sidewalks through the historic town of Goshen, NY. There will be both 5 KM and 10 KM trails available.
The Orange County St. Patrick's Day parade will start at 2 PM
TRAIL RATING: 1 - Easy walk on pavement or a well-maintained trail. Usually suitable for wheelchairs and strollers.

START POINT LOCATION & HOURS: Goshen First Presbyterian Church, 33 Park Place, Goshen, New York 10924. Start times: between 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM, finish by 5 PM.

PRE-REGISTRATION: Girl Scouts may pre-register through the Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson, Inc. There is no pre-registration for non-Girl Scouts.

WATER & RESTROOMS: Water and Restrooms are available at the Start Point.

  • Exit 16 for Route 17/US 6 toward Harriman.
  • Continue on Route 17 / US 6 West.
  • Exit 125 for Route 17M East, South St.
  • Turn LEFT towards South St.
  • Turn RIGHT onto South Street.
  • Turn LEFT onto S. Church St.
  • Turn RIGHT onto Park Place.
  • The church is on the left.

  • From the East:
    • Exit 4E for Route 17 East toward New York.
    • Exit 125 for Route 17M East, South St..
    • RIGHT at Harriman Drive towards South St.

  • From the West:

PARKING: Church parking lot

Refreshments: This walk is cosponsored with the Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson, Inc. The Girl Scouts will be selling soup for a donation of $2.

PETS: Dogs are welcome, except inside buildings, but must be on a leash of 6' or less. Cleanup after your dog is mandatory.

CONDITIONS: This event will be held regardless of weather conditions.
