- Walklist Subscriptions!
Did
you know on the Internet these’s a group of people who discuss various
aspects of walking, including discussions of exercise, AVA events, walking
merchandise, and the like? It’s
called the ‘Walklist’, and it’s a group that is hosted by Yahoo. You can sign up yourself from the web page:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/volkssport
Discussion
of issues related to the sport of volkssporting - non-competitive walking,
biking, swimming, skiing, and more. Members may discuss policy changes,
rule applications, election issues, and governance issues of volkssport
organizations.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/walklist
Walklist
is dedicated to walking for fitness, sport, and fun. Walking clubs and
events are featured. The members share their experience of walking.
As they say, “Check it out”!
These below are 'confirmed'
times and dates!
We are sometime
asked what a 'Group Walk' (as opposed to a Year Round Event (YRE) or
Event) is - We credit our sister club in Albany, the ESCV (EMPIRE STATE
CAPITAL VOLKSSPORTERS) for the following definition of GROUP walks: "Group Walk means all meet and signup
together at the same time,
get a map and start together, then you proceed at your
own pace. There are NO GUIDES for this kind of walk.. Nor does a
group have to stay together. "; so when you see this term in our
calendar below, you'll now know what it means! We usually have fast
walkers, slow walkers, and medium walkers, there's almost always someone
you can walk with if you join us for your first time in a GROUP WALK!
Changes from the previous month in RED!
Note that the MAY 2006 date for our Round Pond Spring event can not be held
that day. It was previously listed as TENTATIVE. We will update you
with either a new tentative date, or a final date, when we confirm with West Point folks.
