Home About NEVA NEVA Regular Events NEVA Seasonals About NFVC NFVC Regular Events NFVC Seasonals	The NEVA walkers date back to 1993 when the New York State Department of Health targeted Western New York to reduce high rates of heart disease. Seed money was made available to the community to start a fitness group that would appeal to Western New Yorkers and increase participation in healthy, safe exercise by making it fun and social. Various sports organizations made presentations to a group of interested citizens and Volkssporting was chosen. Since that date, NEVA members have walked many thousands of miles through Niagara Frontier cities, towns, and villages. NEVA walks are always AVA sanctioned Seasonal or Event walks. The NEVA walking season usually spans April 1 to November 30, with a bonus Christmas Season walk. Please come and join us while we explore the history, geography and natural beauty of Western New York.
