Liberty Bell Special Program |
"Get on your feet Get up and make it
happen." 
The
"Rules". The Liberty Bell Special Program starts on July 4, 2009 and
ends on July 4, 2012.
Complete 15 different events. The trail must pass the bell if it
is displayed out-of-doors or pass the location where it is
housed.
A list of
events will be available with registration by state and additional information
will be posted on the Program page as more events are
confirmed.
No duplicate
event numbers are allowed. If a year round event was used for an entry in the
program book, i.e., 1900+, then 1900 without + is not allowed. Repeating the
same event in another year is not allowed. Each line of the record book is used
to record the IVV event stamp. This program is not retroactive. You may not
record previously completed events in the book. All walks must be stamped in
the record book using the IVV event stamp. Handwritten entries are not allowed.
The Liberty Bell
Special Program Book is available for $10. Redeem it when complete to receive a
5", 100% embroidered color patch. The patch is included in the price of the
book. Completed books must be postmarked by July 31, 2012.

Ring! In 1950, the United States Department of the Treasury
assisted by several private companies selected Paccard Foundry in
Annecy-le-Vieux, France, to cast 55 full-sized replicas of the Liberty Bell.
The bells were shipped as gifts to states and territories of the United
States and the District of Columbia to be displayed and rung on patriotic
occasions. This was part of a savings bond drive held from May 15 to July
4, 1950 with the slogan "Save for Your Independence." |
