Marching Through Culpeper by Virginia Beard Morton.  Trail passes specific sites in the book, The Depot, Saint Stephen’s Episcopal Church, the Court House, etc.  This work of fiction about Constance Armstrong and her father features historically accurate Civil War battles of the period.  Because Culpeper is strategically located between the Rappahannock and Rapidan Rivers and on the vital Orange and Alexandria Railroad, the county witnessed the movement of more troops than any other locale in the nation during the Civil War.
