Family Services sponsored the founding of the F.S. Family Wanderers Volkssport Club to promote family health events which attract the participation of people of all ages and abilities. The club held its first organizational meeting on the 2nd of October 1984. The F.S. Family Wanderers is a member of the American Volkssport Association (AVA-249) and the Evergreen State Volkssport Association (WA 07) and as such is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of Volkssporting.

Membership

Membership in F.S. Family Wanderers is open to all. Our members represent all ages, professions and abilities, and share an interest in the benefits of long distance walking. The club conducts training walks and other special events for its members.

There is no special equipment needed to belong to a volkssport club. All that is needed is the desire to participate in a healthy event and a good walking pair of shoes.

Initial and renewal membership fees are shown below. The membership is on an annual basis and follows the calendar year. Those who initially join after October 1st of a year will be considered as paid up member for the following year.

Initial Family Membership: $15
Initial Individual Membership: $10
Family Membership Renewal: $5
Individual Membership Renewal: $3.50

If you want to join F.S. Family Wanderers, please print out the Membership Application. Mail the completed application and a check for the appropriate amount to the address shown on the application. Checks should be payable to F.S. Family Wanderers.
