Our organization promotes walking and other noncompetitive sporting events that encourage physical fitness, fun and fellowship for people of all ages and abilities.

Our organization is a "walking for exercise and pleasure" club associated with the American Volkssport Association (AVA) through the Evergreen State Volkssport Association (ESVA). The AVA is, in turn, a segment of the International Volkssport Federation (IVV). The group had it origins in Germany and has grown to embrace a number of outdoor exercise activities. Clubs, such as the Willamette Wanderers, that concentrate on "walking" are "Volkswalk" clubs.
