Fairview - Salish Ponds - Rated 1+ - 10K Walk – YR 1489
An
exciting walk through three distinct areas: the
new Fairview Village, a
planned community of beautiful homes, Fairview Park
which includes several
larger-than-life carved statues, and a trail around the Salish Ponds,
home to a
variety of birds. The route also
features the old City of Fairview,
including a small park, an old jail, and the original City Hall.

I-84 east or west bound, take Exit 14 from the freeway.
From the west, turn right on 207th and go
about 3-4 blocks to NE
Halsey Street, turn left to 223rd Avenue. Turn right to Park Lane. Turn
left with signal at Park
Lane, and follow the drive to the
Fred Meyer Store. Use the first
entrance, with the address 22855 over the door, and Starbucks and
Washington
Mutual signs on either side. The start
box is inside the store to the immediate right, through two sets of
double
doors. From the east, exit the freeway
at Exit 14 and turn left on 207th and follow directions above. Please park in outlying areas of the parking
lot. Walk from 7 AM to dusk. Fred
Meyer is open 7 AM to 11 PM.

This
route takes you through quiet neighborhoods, new and established, as
well as
part of the Springwater Trail. The route
is mostly on sidewalk or trail, but includes some roadside areas. It is feasible for strollers, but wheelchairs
would be difficult due to roadside areas, and some curbs may not be cut. Restrooms and water at start/finish and at
some locations along the route. Leashed
dogs are welcome, but scoop laws apply.

From
the east on I-84, take exit 17, Troutdale. Turn
left at the second light and immediately
turn left again on
Frontage Road. Get in the right lane and
continue on Frontage approximately 1/2 mile to the light, and turn
right on 257th Ave. Go south (away from the river) on 257th to Division St. Turn right on Division to Cleveland. Turn
right on Cleveland. The
start is on the corner. Please park in
outlying area of parking
lot. From the west on I-84, take exit
17, Troutdale. Stay in the right lane on
Frontage Road approximately 6/10 of a mile to 257th Avenue.
Turn right on 257th Ave. and follow directions
above. From MAX light rail system, get off
in Gresham at Cleveland/8th, the last stop, and walk north to the Best
Western
Pony Soldier. Ask at the desk for the
start box under the counter. Daily 7 AM
to dusk. Water, food, and restrooms are

Gresham - Hood View - Rated 2 - 10K Walk – YR 0612
This
route provides magnificent views of Mt. Hood
in good
weather. You will walk through the newer
residential areas of Troutdale. Wheelchairs
and strollers are possible but not
all curbs are cut.

This
walk includes Main
City Park,
three cemeteries, the Gresham Saddle Butte Trail, and Springwater Trail. The walk is primarily on city sidewalks, with
paved trails and some natural trails with dirt and gravel.
Not suitable for wheelchairs or
strollers. Water and restrooms available
at start/finish. Pets not allowed on
cemetery grounds. PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL

This route will take you as far along the
Springwater Corridor Trail as you feel comfortable in going.

Powell and Main Street,
entering Main
City Park. Go
straight through the first parking area,
over the small bridge, and park in the lot on your right.
There is a restroom by the baseball backstop.
Gresham - Springwater Trail - Rated 1 - 10K Walk – YR 1716
A
walk with a variety of attractions, including a trail through trees
away from
city streets, walking through quaint downtown Gresham
past a pioneer cemetery and a variety of restaurants, and through
older,
well-maintained Gresham
neighborhoods. Some areas not suitable
for wheelchairs and strollers. Leashed

Going
either east or west on I-84, take Exit 13 (181st Avenue).
Go south on 181st to and across SE Division Street. You will go through seventh traffic signal at Centennial High School.
Immediately after that signal, get into the
right lane, to and across Powell
Blvd., and turn into the Safeway parking lot
on
the right. From I-205 traveling south,
take exit 19 (Division
Street),
turn left onto Division and go to 181st Avenue.
Turn right on 181st and continue to and across
Powell
Blvd., turning right almost
immediately into the Safeway parking lot. Please

The
walk will take you through quiet neighborhoods on sidewalks and
streets,
including a two-mile circuit of the Glendoveer Fitness Trail on bark
dust
around the golf course. Pets are not
allowed at Glendoveer, but an alternate route is available. Although strollers are used at Glendoveer,
the trail is not wheelchair friendly. (Note: You need
to drive to
Glendoveer Fitness Course at 148th and NE Halsey to begin the walk.)

This
walk takes you to some of the hidden gems of mid-Multnomah
County
including the Mall 205 Shopping
Center, a bike path, the 9-1-1
Center for the Portland Metropolitan Area, and the brand new Ron Russell Middle
School. Also
included is a park within a park as you
visit the new Portland
Memory Garden. This
park for Alzheimer’s victims is one of
only eight in the United
States.

route is on paved paths, sidewalks, and one short section of bark dust. The walk goes through a college campus, two

and Washington along the Columbia River. It
also provides
scenic views of Mt. Hood and Mt. St. Helens
in good weather. Suitable for strollers
and wheelchairs. DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON
CAMPUS.

walk consists of 268 acres of rolling, semi-wooded terrain. Various locations provide striking panoramas
of the greater Portland area, Mt. St. Helens,
Mt. Rainier, Mt.
Adams
and Mt. Hood. The
aesthetic aspects of the grounds at
Willamette National are
continually enhanced by the efforts of cemetery personnel and local
garden
clubs. The walk also includes areas of
the Lincoln
Memorial Park.

Continue 8/10 of a mile to a stop sign, where
112th becomes Mt. Scott
Blvd. Willamette National Cemetery
is on your left. Follow Mt. Scott Blvd.
6/10 of a mile and turn right into the entrance at Lincoln Memorial. Please park in an outlying area.
No pets are allowed. Please
be respectful of any memorial service
in progress at either facility. Times: Although
Foster Mini Mart
opens at 6 AM
weekdays and 7 AM
on weekends and closes no earlier

this event. The route includes
sidewalks, walking paths, and some wooded trails. Strollers
and wheelchairs are not feasible. Leashed

beach. The walk is primarily on natural
trails and paved pathways. There is a
$3.00 per car day use entrance fee to Rooster Rock
State Park. CAUTION: The
trail to the falls is a downhill path
without hand or guard rails,
with sections of very rocky, difficult footing when dry, and could be
dangerous
when wet.

the east on I-84, take Exit 17, Troutdale. At
the signal light at the bottom of the exit
ramp, turn right on Graham
Road, then
right into the Holiday Inn parking lot. From
the west on I-84, take Exit 17, Troutdale. Stay
on Frontage Road approximately 5/10 of a
mile, getting into the
left lane. At 257th Avenue/Graham Road turn left into the
outside
lane, pass under the I-84 overpass, and go straight ahead on Graham Road. The Holiday Inn is on your right, just past
Wendy’s. The start box is at the
registration desk. Restrooms are
available. Following registration,
return to I-84 heading east (turn right from Graham Road onto the
access road
to I-84 west, then left at the next signal light to pass under I-84,
left again
on Frontage road, and get into the right lane to access I-84 east at
the signal
light at 257th/Graham Road) and proceed to Exit 25, Rooster Rock State
Park. Daily, dawn to dusk.
